History of My Hobby
My first model was a Faller Octopus which I purchased at a train shop in Pigeon Forge, Tn. in 1992.After
that came a few IHC models and then I switched to RAH models out of Brooklyn Park, MN. My first models were built according
to the directions. Now I modify them by using various items such as beads, plastic tubing, pipe cleaners and cloth skirting.
A Carousel, Bumper Cars, Trabant, Falling Star, Sea Dragon, Swinger, Zipper, Sky Wheel and Flipper are some of the many
rides on my midway. I have several rides currently under construction.

My Background
I was born in Kingsport,Tn in 1951.A life-long fascination for carnivals began when my parents took me to
the annual American Legion Fourth of July celebration.Afterwards,I would sit in school and dream of having my own show some
day. During class I would draw pictures of "my" carnival. Later, I would ride my bike to the show grounds and watch as the
men assembled the rides for the annual carnival. When I was old enough, I would go and help them set up and tear down . In
1974, I joined the carnival - working mostly games but also helping set up the rides. Today,I just visit different shows and
take pictures of them as I travel the highways in my 18-wheeler. When I get home,I try to model some of the rides I have seen.To
me,there is nothing more fascinating than carnivals.
